The laboratory conducts innovative research in the field of Smart Materials, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology. It is involved in nanosynthesis and nanofabrication of smart materials for enhancement of materialistic properties and advanced functionalities such as thermal heat management and solar radiation reduction.
The research conducted in this laboratory includes developing nanoparticles and nanofillers specially designed for nanocoatings and nanocomposites building materials for advanced building applications. The lab is well-equipped with microencapsulator, chemical reactors, shakers, centrifuge, Ultraviolet (UV) & Infrared (IR) lamps, Ultraviolet–visible (UV-VIS) spectrometer, thermal conductivity apparatus, etc. Besides Nanotechnology, the laboratory also supports petrography studies and equipment for evaluating the performance of paints.
